How can I enjoy greater security when contacting potential business partners?

For greater security, we suggest that you adopt following measures when contacting potential business partners through the Internet:

1. Call the telephone and fax numbers provided in the company's B2BDubai posting to check that they are genuine.
2. Check with the registrar of business in the country or territory that the other party claims to be from, to insure that the business is legitimate and licensed to operate.
3. Use an external inspection service to insure that the products meet your requirements.
4. Pay for a sample before purchasing in bulk.
5. Do business with B2BDubai paid advertisers such as On-Spot Trader Suppliers and TrustStamp members (designated on B2BDubai.com by special logos), and featured buyers, who have been individually verified as legitimate businesses by B2BDubai.com.
6. Be guided by your instinct. If the seller seems more focused on payment than any other issue, or indicates that cash payment must be made urgently, more caution should be given to the transaction. Click here for more safe trading tips!

What kinds of fraud should I be looking out for?

The following are three common internet scams, although there are unfortunately many others. Hopefully you won't encounter any of them, but it's as well to be aware:·

Bank Transfer (Scam Mail) also called Phishing
Scam mail originated in Nigeria but now emanates from other countries. Often, victims of this scam receive an introduction letter via email. In this letter they are usually told a story about a wealthy person (for example a rich businessman or government official) who has died. The letter asks the receiver to provide a bank account where the deceased's money can be deposited safely, and promises to give 20%-30% of the total money as compensation.

Performa Invoice (to get your personal information)
Some fraudsters may ask for a pro-forma invoice when they do business with you, and then after you provide this, they may attempt to withdraw your funds, and purchase samples using your good name and business reputation. Your stolen identity may even be used to help con the fraudster's next victim!·

Credit card
Be very careful if a business partner you meet through the internet informs you that they can only send you payment by check or credit card...If you accept these payment methods you are running a risk that the checks have been forged, or the credit card numbers stolen, and ultimately you may have to bear the loss.

How to protect your B2BDubai account from fake email?

Be cautious of emails that ask you to submit personal information such as your B2BDubai member ID or password. Some members reported that persons not related to B2BDubai tried to pose themselves as B2BDubai representatives and sent emails to our members. These messages typically request B2BDubai members to re-enter their member ID and Password through return email or a web site, which purports to be the B2BDubai site. The request was made under the pretense that the member's B2BDubai account may be deactivated (or other similar situation) if they do not re-enter their B2BDubai ID and Password. Through this ploy, the perpetrators attempted to hijack private and confidential information from B2BDubai members.

B2BDubai is committed to keeping trading on the Internet as safe as possible. However, there are occasional situations where people with intent to defraud others invade the Internet. We believe that it is our duty to alert you of possible tricks employed by fraudsters to obtain confidential information from you.

Please be assured that, as long as you do not give out your B2BDubai ID and Password to unauthorized persons, your B2BDubai account is secure and safe. B2BDubai personnel will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or in an unsolicited email. If we request information from you, we will always direct you back to the B2BDubai site.

B2BDubai pages that ask you to provide your member ID and password can be identified by the address in the Address/Location area of your web browser. Most B2BDubai.com sign-in pages can be identified by addresses that begin with "http://B2BDubai.com" or "http://www.B2BDubai.com".

If you receive any communication from persons requesting that you re-enter your B2BDubai ID and Password through return email or a web site, please forward the message to us at . Please send us the email with the complete message text and full header or forward us the entire message using the forward function of your email program. When forwarding the message, do not change the subject line, send additional text, or forward the message as an attachment. Forwarding the message in this manner will allow us to review the message headers and any other information that may be attached to the email. We are working with law enforcement agencies to catch the perpetrators.
